I once read a book describing the crazy spa treatments celebrities will indulge in.
Diamond scrubs, ruby slathers…You name it, they are doing it.  But at a very expensive rate.
While I do think I could find a better way to spend my millions (if I had millions, that is) – The curiosity of it all did have me intrigued and does seem delightfully delicious {whether we all can admit that or not}.

When I came across the opportunity to review Xanadu 24k Gold Serum I couldn’t have been happier – This seemed to be the perfect celeb-like treatment, but from the comfort of my own home…and without breaking the bank (or taking out a personal loan).

Whenever I receive a skin-care product, the first thing I do is look for what I understand.

Which of course would be:
What are we ‘fighting against‘ with this product?
The second being…what are those ingredients?

So before diving right in, I needed to learn a bit more about exactly what Xanadu 24k Gold Serum was offering and promising.

• repair sun damage
• reduce the appearance of wrinkles
• and my favorite…Leaving you with a Golden Youthful Glow

If anyone knows me..They’ll know: I am all about that GLOW {or at least try to be}.
But behind closed doors that sunny disposition sometimes fades when there can be the struggle of fighting the signs of aging and damaged skin.

Xanadu 24K Gold Serum is formulated with a combination of Organic, High-Tech Science and 24K Real Gold.
When reading an ingredient list – I do just a bit of basic ‘research’ to get a simple understanding of what each one does.

Deionized Water  Water with almost all mineral ions removed
Vitamin C  Helps protect and keep cells healthy
Vitamin E An antioxidant that protects cells
Collagen Protein
Rose Extract  Moisturizes, soothes and firms
Hyaluronic Acid Holds up to 1000x its volume in moisture to benefit your skin
Creatine  Supply of energy to your cells
Beta-Glucan  Helps to active the production of Langerhan cells, which give youthful appearance.
Palmitoyl Oligopeptide (Matrixyl-3000) A peptide which stimulates collagen and skin repair
Epidermal Growth Factor Helps to stimulate new cell growth
P-Anisic Acid comes from the anise spice and helps in preserving

Being up front and honest, I will tell you: I do not only look for products with ingredients I can pronounce, or that are all organic etc.  If a product is, great.  If not, that’s fine with me too.  Although those few things may not be of a personal concern to me; one thing I can say is: I am a much happier woman when a product does not test on animals.

Now, I am not the type of reviewer who only wants to tell you about results.
I want you to see them…as I see them.
I did a simple 15 day test only using the 24K Gold Serum on the right side of my face.

What I love about Xanadu 24k Gold Serum:
No complicated system to this: Apply in morning and apply at night to freshly cleansed skin.
Goes on incredibly smooth, with a watery-gel like texture.
Dries quick leaving no sticky residue or uncomfortable feeling after application.
Prominent Gold Flecks for that wonderful ‘celebrity-like’ indulgence.
I have to say I am quite happy with my results thus far and am excited to keep using the 24k Gold Serum.

I can say the one downfall to the Xanadu 24k Gold Serum, at least for me, is the strong rose scent, which is almost musty.
Although rose extract helps to soothe our skin, it is certainly something I would prefer to live without.  Again though, this is a personal preference.
On the plus side, it does not last long, so it would not be something to sway my decision on making a future purchase.
The next ‘con’ for me would be the directions of: Avoid around eyes.  Fine lines around my eyes is one of the bigger issues I face and would like to control more sooner than later.  That being said, having a serum that is working strictly for your facial skin is important.

The good news with the 24k Gold Serum being a ‘face’ serum is, it will be putting back in, what your skins texture has lost over the years due to aging or damage.  I think it’s safe to say for most women over 30…This is now a serious goal.
On an irrelevant (but very-girly note) I adore how aesthetically beautiful the serum looks upon my dresser.  The little flecks of gold dance in the sunlight and it really is a tiny piece of eye candy sitting among my other ‘girly’ perfumes, lotions and goodies.
