Cold Death
Author: S.Y. Robins
Description: "When Callum Davidson’s ex-girlfriend Milly is found murdered in the hills behind Wirkster village, not far from his home or Milly’s, Callum is the first suspect. When he won’t reveal an alibi Milly’s plans for Christmas with Callum are in jeopardy. She must convince him to prove his innocence, to tell the police where he was the night of the murder or he faces a lifetime in prison…"
My View
A dead ex, a neighbor under suspicion and a woman with her head in the clouds. Follow Milly, her 2 terriers (Daisy and Mildred) and her cat Edgar as they track down the killer (although none of them actually do any of the tracking). I'm just going to be honest – I did not enjoy this book. It wasn't all that predictable, but there was not really any suspense to it either. No real twists and turns and I found a lot of things just didn't make sense..Starting with the Diary. This short read definitely took a lot longer than it should have to finish and I'm guessing it was just because there wasn't a lot keeping my attention. I kind of was disappointed to have not enjoyed this one, as it's listed as a "cat sleuth" – Sounded cute. However, as an added bonus there is another book included at the end. So I think I may give this author another shot! Cold Death can be found on both amazon.com and amazon.ca (with great reviews! So really, my judgment might not be the best 😉 ).
My Rating
2 out of 5 Candy Canes – Just wasn't my cup of tea.
Don't forget to check back in tomorrow, as I share another Christmassy novella review!..Oh, and a recipe too! 😉
