One of my favorite dishes on a cold winter's day is a nice bowl of chili. Even more so, when I can sit back, relax and let "someone else" do the work hehe.Join me now for an easy, flavorful crockpot chili. Set it and forget it!…Perfect for those cold winter days!
If you've ever ventured over to my blog (and if you have never been here before – Welcome!!), you'll know I'm not a huge fan of the unneccessary yap-yap. I don't believe in keeping people here all day, rolling their eyes and scrolling forever to find what they came here for :)) So with that – Here's a really simple and nice recipe for Crockpot Chili – Perfect for the Winter Months that are to come!
You Will Need
1 Can Corn
1 Can Rotel
1 tsp Cumin
1 lb Ground Beef
1/3 Cup of Water
1 tsp Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp Yellow Mustard
1 Small Onion, diced and fried
3 Slices Bacon, diced and fried
1 Packet of Beef Flavor Bouillon
1 Small Green Pepper, diced and fried
1 Can Kidney Beans, drained and rinsed
* Salt and Pepper to Taste
* * NOTE: I diced and fried the bacon, green pepper and onion. This is personal preference. Feel free to just dice and toss in with the chili, if you wish to skip this step!
Mix all ingredients together and set crockpot to low for 6-8 hours.
Be sure to check on the chili, every 2 hours or so – Giving a stir or adding a bit more liquid, if you see fit.
After 6-8 hours, if you feel the chili could use some thickening up, mix together one tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and add to chili.
I like to leave the lid off for about half hour or so at the end of the cooking period, to help thicken the chili as well.
