Mistletoe and Wine
Mistletoe and Wine by Faith Bleasdale
Author:  Faith Bleasdale
Description:  "One office party, three couples, lots of secrets. What could possibly go wrong?  Harry Augustus, the third generation boss of Augustus Estate Agents, is hosting the biggest and best Christmas party yet.  He is pulling out all the stops and has a big announcement to make. Gabby, the glamorous office manager, is in charge of the festive bash. But she’s also sleeping with the boss.Their office romance has been anything but subtle and is made more scandalous by the fact that Harry is married with two kids.  But theirs is not the only secret relationship in the office… "

My View:
A great little gossipy chicklit.  The introduction to the characters was an excellent way to start the build up of the story and send us off into the highly anticipated Office Christmas Party.  I loved the way the author talked about the characters lives from others perspectives as well as their own perspectives.  She was really able to have us get a sense of who everyone was in such a short amount of time (which I have noticed from reading little chicklits, is not an easy thing to do). I was quite excited to see what Harry's big announcement was going to be and although (a bit) predictable it was still worth it.  I think Gabby's actions/thoughts should have been toned down a little, because that's really what gave it away and I would have loved a *little* more suspense.  But seriously..What do I know anyway?  I don't write books haha πŸ˜‰  I could very much understand and connect with Evie, who is desperately trying to move onto her new life, while still having to live in the old one.  I'm not sure if there is another book after this, but I would probably grab it!  It would be interesting to see how all these characters lives play out.  I bet there could be some exciting twists and turns!  Mistletoe and Wine was a really fun holiday read.  I could visualize everything perfectly, right down to the girls having drinks together, chatting and giggling away.  I think I am going to keep this one in the kindle – I will most likely read it again!  If you want to join in all the gossipy fun with Gabby, Caroline and the rest of the gang, you can grab this festive read from amazon.com or amazon.ca

3 out of 5 Candy Canes – Not the *best* one I have read so far, but still a very *girly* and fun Christmassy read!
